About the evaluation

Focused on readiness, not on ruling you out

Many surgical and pain-management programs require or recommend a psychological evaluation before a procedure. The evaluation looks at psychological readiness, coping, expectations, support, and treatment adherence.

Identifying a concern does not automatically prevent surgery. Recommendations may include education, treatment, behavioral preparation, or added support to support readiness.

Who provides evaluations: Psychological testing is provided by Mason Anglin, PsyD, a Registered Psychological Associate (PSB94029529), under the supervision of Youssef Nakhla, PsyD, a licensed psychologist (PSY 36042), at Cogniscribe Psychology.

How it works

What to expect from an assessment

Initial discussion of concerns and goals

Every evaluation includes a feedback session, where results are reviewed in clear, straightforward language, and a written report with practical recommendations for next steps.
